Who is this training designed for?

This training is designed for MDs, DOs, DMDs, DDS, NPs, PAs, and RNs.

Is this course CME Accredited?

Yes! For completion of the Didactic (Activity #1) and the Hands-On training (Activity #2), you will receive 15.5 CME credits.

Can providers outside of CA and the US attend?

Yes! According to the State of California Business and Professions Code Section 2729, nurses licensed in another state or country are eligible to take this training for CME accreditation.


Hands-On PDO Threads Training

After taking this training course, you will be able to properly assess, choose the right product, inject, and treat your patients with beautiful results.

Course Agenda:

-Q&A about all things threads

-Live injection demo performed by Dr. Gideon Kwok, DO, Lori Robertson, or Rio Calvert, MSN, FNP-C

-Your one-on-one hands-on training

Topics Covered:

-Facial Anatomy, facial vasculature, location, depths, and precautions
-The aging process, patient assessment, symmetry and balancing  
-Thread knowledge, types of threads and choosing the thread type
-Thread placement and insertion techniques
-Choosing vectors, lifting techniques, anchoring locations
-Indications/contraindications of threads

As a result of these activities, the participant should be better able to:

On-Demand Didactic

  • Analyze anatomical landmarks. Fat complications ligaments, muscles related to dermal fillers, and neurotoxins.
  • Describe the aging process and how to utilize volume replacement with dermal fillers and collagen stimulators.
  • Explain facial muscle assessment origins, insertions and muscle action /function as it relates to neuromodulator use.
  • Assess and evaluate for adverse events/reactions as they pertain to dermal fillers and neuromodulators.

Hands-On Activity

  • Demonstrate proper injection techniques for neuromodulators.
  • Demonstrate proper injection techniques for dermal filler.
  • Verbalize and express understanding of the aging face and how to appropriately rejuvenate with dermal fillers.
  • Verbalize and express understanding of the muscle's origins and that are related to neurotoxin injections and their outcomes.


Dr. Gideon Kwok, DO

Dr. Kwok’s experience in the field now equates to over 15 years in aesthetics, contributing as a practitioner, speaker, and trainer. Apart from his local endeavors, he also supports aesthetic medicine internationally as a prominent speaker at engagements and trainings. Currently, he is a national speaker and trainer for Galderma, as well as, being an active member on their U.S. and global advisory boards. Furthermore, Dr. Kwok is also a faculty member and trainer for Mint threads, along with partaking as a trainer and speaker for Cutera and Radiesse.

Dr. Kwok’s mounting experience and contributions to the field have led to his recognition as one of the top injectors in America.

Lori Robertson, MSN, FNP-C

Lori has spent over 39 years in medicine, 24 of which she spent as an ER and ICU nurse. In 2004, she became a Nurse Practitioner working in Family Practice. It was after getting botox for the first time when she began to consider working in aesthetics.

In 2012 she was voted the National Aesthetic Nurse of the Year, in 2015 voted Southern California’s Best Aesthetic Nurse, and has been selected as one of America's top 100 Best Aesthetic injectors 3 years in a row. Lori also has quite an interesting past as a Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff Rsv. for 13 years, has won 4 National Championships racing Corvettes, and worked as the Medical Consult/Actress for ABC-TV General Hospital for 19 years.

Rio Calvert, MSN, FNP-C

Rio Calvert is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Rio works in the field of aesthetics as an aesthetic provider. She is also an international aesthetic laser trainer as well as a certified PDO thread lift trainer for multiple industry-leading companies. She also trains aesthetic practices on the latest injectable procedures, techniques, and best practices.Rio has a passion for teaching and empowering others to reach their highest potential. Rio’s hobbies are camping, fishing, hiking, dirt bike riding, water sports, and cooking.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Medical Education Resources (MER) and Ai. MER is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
